1969 LM1 Convertible
Here are some pictures of my 1969 Camaro.
This is an all number matching convertible camaro.
It was originally Dover White with a black top and black standard interior. This is verifiable by looking at the trim tag mounted on the firewall:
On the first line "69 12467" means 1969 V8 convertible.
On the second line "711" means black standard interior, "50"
means Dover white body color and "B" means black top.
On the third line "09B" means that the car was assembled during the
second week of September 1968 which corresponds with the rest of the dated
components on the car.
It has the original engine which consists of:
| Part | Casting Number | Casting Date | Description |
| Block | 3932388 | Date H288(August 28, 1968) | This is a 2 bolt main small block. |

Here are some pictures of the casting numbers and stamps:
The engine pad stamp is 508926 T0830HS. This means that the engine was assembled in Tonawanda on August 30, 1968 and is a 255 horsepower 350 with a turbo 350 transmission. The 508926 is a partial VIN that matches the last part of the vehicle VIN.
The engine isn't exactly "stock" anymore as the following modification have been made:
The engine puts out about 300 HP so it's not a beast, but it's a nice cruiser.
The transmission is a turbo 350. The only numbers on the transmission are the partial VIN stamp which matches the last part of the vehicle VIN.
The car originally came equipped with a 3:08 non posi 12 bolt rear. This is verifiable by the axle tube stamp and the center section casting number:
The stamp is BL 0830G1 which means 3:08 non posi(BL) assembled during the first shift in Detroit on August 30, 1968(0830G1). The casting number 3894860NF means 1967-1969 Camaro 12 bolt rear.
I removed the original 350 and TH350 and installed a 383 stroker and a 2004R. Here are some pictures of the new engine:
The new 383 is a 4 bolt main block with a 4.030 bore with a 3.76 stroke 400 crank. It has has edelbrock performer RPM heads(70cc) and intake with 10.65:1 compression. I rebuilt a QuadraJet 7029223 carb to use on the 383. I rejetted the carb with 50 metering rods and 73 jets. I also installed a GM HEI distributor with a 50,000 volt coil. I used a GM L82 grind for the cam. The specs are lift .450/.460 Dur 224/224 at .050 with a 114 lobe center.
